02 / GET STARTED

A little setup.
A cookbook to keep.

1

Download & extract

Save the ZIP to your computer, then extract it completely. On Windows, right-click and choose Extract All. On Mac, double-click the ZIP in Finder. Keep all the Windows or Linux app files together.

2

Open the app

Follow the instructions for your version above. On Mac, keep the setup command and app beside each other for the first run; afterward you can move the app to Applications or Desktop.

The app is unsigned. Your computer may ask for security approval or block it. On Mac, if offered, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway after attempting to launch. Only approve a download you trust. Work or school computers may prohibit unsigned apps.

3

Make it yours

Click the cover arrow to open Contents. Five examples help you get started. Choose Add a recipe, enter your details, and click Save recipe to add its name to Contents. Saved recipes remain editable.

4

Save & keep a backup

Edits and drafts save automatically on this computer. Watch for “Saved automatically” in the app. Use Export recipe backup to keep an extra copy. To move your collection to another computer, import that backup in the app there.

Already started a cookbook?

Choose Import recipes / old organizer inside the app and select your latest HTML organizer or JSON backup. Import replaces the current collection, so export a backup first if you want to keep it.

Before you begin

Desktop computers only; these packages are not mobile or Chromebook apps. The app works offline after download and setup. Recipes stay on each computer; automatic cloud sync is not included.

This first release is unsigned. Download integrity is checked; native installation on Windows and Mac has not been independently verified. For help with your purchase, message the seller through Etsy.

Download integrity / SHA-256 checksums

These identify the exact version 1.0.0 packages. You can compare them with a SHA-256 tool on your computer.
